According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, a 76-year-old man was frightened by the magpie while cycling in Wolonggang. The magpie rushed over and hit his bike, injuring the old man in the head and then died.

According to eyewitnesses, the man rode a balanced bike on the Nicholson Park roadside road in Wolonggang on Sunday morning. A magpie suddenly swooped down to avoid it. To avoid it, the man made an emergency turn off the path. As a result, the bike hit the fence, while the man was thrown to the ground and seriously injured in the head. He was then rushed to St. George`s Hospital (St George hospita), by an emergency plane, and the old man died the night of the incident, despite the efforts of medical staff.

(Jason Crosskey), one of the witnesses, said the old man was badly hurt at the time. "A lot of blood. I`m so sorry for him. It`s worth alerting us to what happened."

Officials at Wolonggang Police Station (Wollongong Police District) are currently investigating the incident and the report will be submitted to the coroner when completed.

Magpie Alert website (Magpie Alert) records magpie attacks in Australia, where citizens share their experiences of being attacked by magpies. So far, there have been eight magpie attacks on Nicholson Park. User Mark (Mark) wrote in August, "I was attacked twice on a northbound ride, just my helmet, which nests in a pine tree by the driveway behind Woonona Surf Club."

Australia`s spring approaches, entering the high incidence season when magpies attack people, and cyclists and walkers close to their nests are the targets of their attacks.

Sydney City Hall is reported to have killed a "very aggressive magpie" this month, which jumped and injured people in a few years, including a case in which a victim had a heart attack.
