Since 2002, four people in Australia have died after eating the deadly poisonous mushroom.

In 2012, four Chinese in Canberra accidentally ate the poisonous mushrooms at a dinner on New year`s Eve and were sent to hospital for first aid. One of the couples died.

Six months later, a middle-aged woman in her fifties came to Australia to visit her family.

In 2014, a total of four people were poisoned by miseating mushrooms.

Death Mushroom is often confused with other wild mushrooms, Dr. Kelly said. Canberra residents should avoid picking wild mushrooms altogether, and if they want to eat them, buy them from reputable suppliers.

Dr Kelly also warned against touching wild mushrooms and educating children and pets to stay away from them.

"if you think you have miseaten the Mushroom, please go to the hospital`s emergency department immediately for emergency medical treatment and take the remaining mushrooms to the hospital for identification."
