According to Radio 9, the recent outbreak of Listeria in Australia, the outbreak is caused by cantaloupe infection caused by Listeria monocytogenes. Seventeen people have been confirmed to be infected and four have died across Australia, with the latest death coming from Victoria.

It is reported that the epidemic has led to the death of 4 people in Australia, 2 from Victoria, 2 from New York.

Dr. Sutton (Brett Sutton), the state's deputy chief health officer, said microbiological tests confirmed a new death in the state, which died more than a week ago, but the cause of death was not confirmed until Tuesday.

So far, there are 17 people in Australia infected with Listeria, six of whom are from Victoria, three men and three women, aged between 60 and 90.

Infected cantaloupe has been withdrawn from the sales and distribution market.

It is understood that the latent period of Listeria is a few days (after eating cantaloupe), up to 6 weeks. Initial symptoms are similar to flu, such as fever, coldness, muscle aches, nausea, and sometimes diarrhoea.
