Animal rights activists believe the number of koalas has fallen to a very low level and that the species is now in a state of "functional extinction," the Daily Mail reported.

Australia`s Australia Koala Foundation says there are only 80,000 kola in the field in Australia, which means that they are unlikely to reproduce the next generation.

Since 2010, the agency has monitored 128 federal constituencies located in Kola`s living environment, 41 of which have no Kola.

Although the researchers admit that koalas like to move around and that their habitat is so complex that they are difficult to track, the number of koalas is indeed plummeting.

According to a 2016 survey, there are 330000 koalas left in Australia. The number of koalas is as low as 144000 at the lowest and 600000 at the maximum.

The biggest that present at the moment is the loss of habitat and the hot weather triggered by climate change.

Koalas have been officially listed as endangered species in Kunzhou, New State and Australia`s capital territory since May 2012. This means that the number of koalas is decreasing sharply or at risk.
