Sydney`s skyline has been rewritten over the past 120 years, but a magnificent historic building has stood the test of time, the Australian news agency reported. Standing in (CBD), Sydney`s central business district, the Queen Victoria Building (QVB), nearly demolished, marks the 120th anniversary of its opening today.

The Queen Victoria Tower, built in honor of Queen Victoria, was built in 1898 and has become one of Sydney`s landmarks. Since the opening of the Queen Victoria Building, there have been more than 33 million passengers a year, most of whom are tourists. Tourists are often amazed by the magnificent Roman-style architecture.

Sutton (Daniel Sutton) of retail real estate group Vicinity Centres told journalist the Queen Victoria Tower is a typical Sydney shopping mall and has long been an integral part of Sydney`s CBD landscape.

Mondial Pink Diamond Atelier, the jewelry retailer, has been in the Queen Victoria Building for 25 years, and the head of the store, Newman (Michael Neuman), described the building as "one of the most magnificent shopping malls in the world." No matter how the world around it changes, he said, the Queen Victoria Building is still in Sydney`s CBD Center, beautiful as it was at the beginning.

In 1898, the then mayor of Sydney, Harris (Francis Harris), opened the doors of Queen Victoria`s building with a gold key carved with complicated patterns.
