On Thursday night, Sydney police searched a home in Sydney`s southwest district and found 16 kilograms of heroin in a batch of children`s suits.
The $8 million drug was found in a joint investigation by the New State Police Department and the Australian Border Service.
As part of the investigation into the illicit supply of drug and guns, agents received reports of smuggling schemes.
After a further investigation, the Border Service officials have locked a Thai air cargo package arriving in Sydney on May 1.
They checked the package and carried out an X-ray, found an anomaly, found 8 packets of "copy paper" in children`s clothing. Content tests show that these are all heroin.
The package was delivered to a recipient in Sydney`s southwest district and then picked up on Wednesday by a 45-year-old man.
Shortly afterwards, police executed a search warrant at a home in Cabramatta West and arrested the Asian man.
During the search, police seized parcels, mobile phones, documents and 27 bottles of Johnny Walker Blue Label. with a retail value of more than 30, 000 yuan
The man was taken to the Fairfield police station and charged with intentional involvement in large commercial drug supplies.
He was denied bail and appeared before the Liverpool Magistrates Court on Thursday, where he was formally denied bail and will appear again on July 18.
Chief Inspector Weinstein (Jason Weinstein), of the drug and guns investigation teams, said investigators were focused on destroying drug`s supply chain, both domestically and abroad.
"after the seizure of 16 kilograms of heroin, we know that there will be fewer drug flows into the streets, but we will not be complacent; we will continue to investigate its origin and direction of circulation." Weinstein said.
"in addition, we will leverage the skills of our partners, including the Australian Border Service, to prevent drug imports and large-scale supplies that continue to plague our communities."

New State Investigator Superintendent Luo (Garry Low) of the Border Guard said heroin is a destructive drug that can harm users, their family, friends and Australian communities.
"heroin is addictive and destructive. It can break up your wife and do incalculable harm to those in trouble." "the top priority of the Border Guard is to take these illegal substances away from those who are trying to profit from the vulnerable members of our society," he said.
The joint investigation is under way and more are expected to be arrested.
