According to reports, the site next to McLarens Street, near the Coolangatta State School, has always been the site of the "Love Lock," where locals have come to visit in memory of their lost loved ones, and friends. Talk to them as they did when they were still there.

Angela Mavs, a local resident, is one of the owners of the Love Lock, where she hung a "Love Lock" in memory of her recently deceased mother, as well as the lock she had earlier prepared for her grandmother.
When she found out all the locks were gone, she said, "I`m depressed."

In response, a spokeswoman for the Gold Coast City Council said she did not know the lock had been removed.
"We have not received any complaints from the local legal authorities, nor have we received any notification of the removal of the lock," she said.
She also said she would investigate the matter.
Gail O`Neily, a district councilor, said she had not heard of the lock being removed, but said she would look into it. And Real is strange.
