An Australian homeowner was surprised to find a $20 note in his mailbox, accompanied by a note, but the "random act" was conditional.

On Saturday afternoon, the man posted a photo of the generous gift and handwritten note on Reddit Australia titled "got in the mailbox today."

In the tweet, the giver wrote in a note that giving 20 yuan was a "random act of goodwill" that they thought might be more useful to homeowners than the giver.

But as the anonymous philanthropist explains, generous gifts are conditional.

Omen's mailbox suddenly received a note, but the other man's kindness was 'conditional.'

"all I ask is that you might one day do a good thing for someone else," the note said.

After posting the tweet, the photo attracted a lot of comments, and many people shared their views on social media about "random acts of goodwill."

"that`s great! I hope one day you can pass on your love, "wrote one netizen."

Another said, "there`s a `pass on love` event right now, at least in the area around Sydney."

Omen's mailbox suddenly received a note, but the other man's kindness was 'conditional.'

"sometimes I buy two cups of coffee, one for myself and the other for the next customer (they don`t know)," added the third. "I want to give someone a little love."

"Let Love pass on" activity refers to doing something good for others without expecting anything in return.

Another same-minded "act of kindness" includes street libraries, where people share books in public places such as storm-proof boxes.

It follows the same idea as "goodwill pantry" that people can enjoy food when they need it and give it back when they can.

While many Reddit users are positive about "Let Love pass on," not everyone thinks that "random acts of goodwill" are true.

"I`m not the only one who thinks it`s a little weird and weird," said one netizen.

Another added, "can I say this is bullshit? I don`t want to get involved."

While some were skeptical about the kindness, the homeowner quickly responded to the criticism and defended the photo, saying: "it`s definitely not a fake."

"I post because people behave very well, and some people in life have time to think about others," he said.
