A woman from Queensland called on Aussie`s unite together to fight soaring oil prices and co-owned the boycott gas station on Oct. 26.

Thousands of people have joined the campaign call Sabrina Lamont posted through its Facebook page.

The event is called the National fuel strike (National Fuel Strike).

The Lamont also called on the federal government to step in and lift the fuel consumption tax.

"it`s a resistance against government and taxes," she told 3AW`s Tony Jones:. We are paying for the highest oil price ever. This is equivalent to a tax increase. "

"We plan to refuse to buy car fuel on Friday, October 26th."

She said a strong message would be sent to the authorities if "the nation`s people were United," including farmers and truck drivers.

"We hope that government will immediately abolish the duty on goods and services in fuel sales."

"We will continue the campaign for the next month until a permanent change occurs."

Mark McKenzie, chief executive of the Australian Association of convenience and Oil marketers, retorted that the rise in fuel costs depended largely on global factors.

"We need to be cautious about what we expect."

"the reality is that those stations are also open for business, so even if revenues fall on October 26th, they still need to open their doors."

"so any losses that occur in that period of time need to be made up for at other times."

"in other words, the more such boycott occurs, the more restrictive the revenues of these filling stations will be; the less they earn, the more they will force fuel prices to continue to rise."

As a result, he thinks this national refueling boycott will only make things worse.
