If obesity rates rise at current rates, 22 percent of the world`s obese population will be obese in 2045 and 1/8 (14 percent) will have type 2 diabetes, according to a new study published by (European Congress on Obesity), a European obesity symposium.

Last year, 14% of the world`s obese population and 9% had Type 2 diabetes.

"the figures highlight the amazing challenges that the world will face in the future with regard to obesity and the number of people with type 2 diabetes," said Mosis (Alan Moses), a researcher at the company`s development department, who funded the new study.

"these people will also face medical challenges because national health care systems will spend a lot of money," added Moses.

In the United States, the obesity rate will rise to 55% in 2045, up from 39% in 2017, according to data provided to the World Health Organization (WHO) by countries around the world, according to the Moses and research team. The number of people with type 2 diabetes will also reach 18% in 2045, up from 14% in 2017.

In the UK, that proportion will rise from 32% to 48%, and the incidence of diabetes will rise from 10.2% to 12.6%.

Health care systems now "cost a lot of money just to treat diabetes," the researchers say.

The researchers also said that reversing the increasing trend of obese populations requires action by countries to cooperate actively. "each country will vary depending on genetic, social, environmental, and other factors," the researchers said. This is why there is no uniform solution to this problem. Every country must set the best policy for itself. "

A global survey in 2016 found that the proportion of obese adults had doubled from 1975; in 2014, 641 million of the world`s 5 billion adults were obese.
