South Australian man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for abducting a European backpacker, locking him in a pigsty and committing multiple rape crimes against him.

According to Radio 7, in 2017, the 24-year-old woman posted an online job search advertisement for farm workers, and Bristow (Gene Charles Bristow) replied to the victim and abducted it to her farm in remote areas. Chain the victim in a pigsty.

On Tuesday, District Court judge Davison (Geraldine Davison) sentenced Bristow to 18 years in prison without parole for 12 years and 6 months. During judge's reading of the verdict, Bristo, 54, was expressionless and unmoved.

Judge said Bristow first lured the victim to his farm in Maningi (150km southeast of Meningie, Adelaide) and then locked the victim's hands and feet. "you took and disposed of her phone, left her in a pigsty in a remote corner, and sexual invasion her many times," she told Bristow.

It is understood that while the victim was locked in a pigsty, Bristow asked threat to shoot her and fabricated lies that the police corruption and himself were members of a kidnapping criminal syndicate.

"when you keep humiliating and belittling her, we can't imagine the loneliness and despair she feels in a foreign country," judge Davison said. "but judge then praised the courage and wit of the victim, who finally let Bristow go.

Judge Davison said the victim managed to break out of the chain and then turn to the outside world through a computer for help, while she flattered Bristow to avoid infuriating the latter. She said in the victim's influence statement that when she was forcibly locked in a pigsty, she felt like an animal or a slave.

Judge pointed out that Bristow did not show any repentance for the crimes he had committed. Minus the time he has served, Bristow will be allowed to bail in 2029.
