"We heard that dozens of houses have been destroyed in Tathra." Fuller (Campbell Fuller), the communications director of the Australian Insurance Commission, said Sunday night.

"We declare it a disaster, which ensures that the losses caused by these bushfires can be settled on a priority basis, and that we will classify them so that those who are most in need receive the fastest possible attention," he said.

, Bega Valley Shire Mayor McBain (Kristy McBain) said Sunday night that as many as 35 homes were burned and that people now fear they are trapped in Tathra, because roads to and from the town have been closed. She said: "the speed with which the situation changes and the speed with which the emergency is unfolding is shocking."

"some homes in Tathra are believed to have been damaged or destroyed," the New State Fire and Rescue Agency said Sunday afternoon.

Just an hour ago, the jungle fire, one of two out-of-control fires near Bega, was declared an emergency, and residents were told it was too late to escape the blaze.

On Sunday, the whole state was very hot, with Sydney`s CBD reaching 38 degrees Celsius at 3 p.m., and the West side`s Penrith at 38.3 degrees Celsius.

The temperature reached 38.4 ℃ at 3 pm in Bega, but lower than 33 ℃ in Goulburn,.

The state is also responding to emergencies caused by wildfires, with similar hot and windy weather leading to the burning of about a dozen homes and many farm buildings west of Cobden in the northwest of the state. Hundreds of cattle and cows were also killed in fires that burned 40,000 hectares of land.

At about 3 p. M. Sunday, a grass fire broke out near Coopers Gully Rd, also in Bega Valley, shutting down lanes in both directions at Princes Highway.

A similar fire broke out near Goulburn, northeast of Canberra.

The fire department expects several fires to continue until Monday morning.

Earlier on Sunday, more than half of the new state, including the Greater Sydney area, issued comprehensive fire precautions that were expected to cause dangerous conditions in hot and windy weather.

The entire southeast corner of the state was banned from Greater Hunter to Far South Coast.

The northwestern region bordering Kunzhou has also issued a comprehensive fire ban.

The official jungle fire risk period will not end until March 31.
