A 38-year-old Chinese man in Perth, Australia, was shot dead by a door-to-door police officer who has been suspended, Australian News Network reported.

On Nov. 22, local time, Tong Li and his father had a quarrel at his home in Perth Beechboro. His father then called the police and the police officer came to handle the incident and fired three shots at him in Tong Li's bedroom, killing him.

Tong Li's family claimed that Tong Li was just holding a butter knife in his hand, but a police officer at the door shot him to death.

Authorities are investigating the murder, and the officer has been suspended until the findings come out.

On the 23rd, Tong Li's family was allowed to return home for the first time after the shooting incident.

It is understood that before the fatal incident, Tong Li had a quarrel with his father about the DVD player earlier in the day. At that time, Tong Li angrily shoved his father, the old man angrily called the police to the door, did not expect his son to die.

The victim's sister, Onah, said their father regretted what had happened "from the bottom of his heart." "he told us that he regretted what he had done-he shouldn't have gone to the police for help, because after they came in, they shot his own son without saying anything." She said.

The family decided to keep Tong Li's room as it was when he died and said they would use it as a way to remember him.
