The Canberra Light Rail broke down in just three days and hundreds of passengers were trapped in the car.

Just after 09:30 on Monday morning, hundreds of passengers were stranded in the carriages after an outage of power on the light rail overhead line on the (Gungahlin)-Canberra section of Ganga Forest to (Civic), Canberra, left hundreds of passengers stranded in the carriages.

Alan (Liz Allen), who was on the light rail train, told the Canberra Times that there had been four power outages between her boarding from (Nullarbor Avenue) on Narabel Avenue to the downtown station. "We received a notice from the driver that the power line on it was out of power."

Allen said the driver apologized and said he didn`t know how long the delay would take. "the light rail train sounded like it was moving, and then we went on, but it went out of power again, and it might have been repeated four times."

Allen said the first power outage occurred when the light rail train arrived at Mitchell (Mitchell) station. She said that as soon as 09:30 passed, she got on the bus, and it was 10:30 when she arrived at (Alinga St) Station, Alinga Street, downtown.

Because of the power failure, the air conditioning on the light rail train also does not work. "for the most part of the journey, there was no air conditioning, no seats, and very little space. "I spent about A $3 on the light rail train," Allen said. "I almost fainted, vomit everywhere, and a group of angry passengers got off the train. "

The failure of the light rail train also affected other light rail services. Passengers reported that people lined up on the light rail line to get on.

Canberra`s light rail was officially opened to the public last Saturday. On that day, 25000 people took the light rail train.

The Canberra Times has contacted Transportation Director Fitz Harris (Meegan Fitzharris) for comment.
