Details of a police attack on a suspected pedophile in a Sydney bar on National Day showed that the suspect had no intention of getting out of the bar alive, the Daily Mail reported.

On National Day, 45-year-old detective police officer Breda (John Breda) goes to Marubura Central Bar (Maroubra Junction Hotel) to arrest 33-year-old paedophile suspect (Nick Newman). Newman, who was tried in absentia on the day of his arrest. However, the routine arrests quickly turned into deadly bloodshed. Newman stabbed officer Breda in the chest with a knife, causing Breda many internal injuries. Newman then tried to cut his throat and was shot dead by Breda`s colleagues.

Witness Douglas (Brett Douglas) said the injured officer Breda saw him through the window and called for help pressing the wound. Douglas saw Newman lying on the floor, covered in blood, with a knife under his throat.

Surveillance video shows the bustling Marubura central bar in a mess after the incident, with one officer shouting "don`t move" and another instructing the crowd to make emergency calls.

Newman, who was charged with six counts of raping a teenage girl, was due to appear in court on January 24, according to Channel 9. Because Newman is absent, the police have also issued a notice, hoping people to provide clues to Newman`s whereabouts. The victim girl was pregnant after being sexually assaulted by Newman.

Police officer Breda has received emergency surgery, although serious, but relatively stable. Officer Breda received one of the highest police honors and was awarded the National Medal of (National Medal). By the Prime Minister of Australia in 2015
