On Saturday afternoon, a Victorian mother drowned when she was struggling to save a drowning child, Radio 7 reported.
It is reported that on Saturday afternoon, a 34-year-old woman in (Bairnsdale), eastern Victoria, took her two children, six and seven years old, to (Lake Victoria), Lake Victoria, in (Forge Creek), Fogg Creek. Another child was present.
Around 1: 00, one of the children drowned, the woman went to rescue. But she herself was in trouble.
All the children managed to swim back to shore. Unable to rescue the woman, the children ran back to a nearby house for help from their father who worked there.
The father came to save his wife. Unfortunately, the woman died on the spot.
It is understood to be the fifth drowning in Victoria in the past six days, and the sixth death occurred in the new state.
