Court acquitted a Western Australian man accused of having a Vietnamese immigrant in Year Nineteen Eighty-nine murder of having paranoid schizophrenia and convicted him of intentional murder.
Nearly 30 years ago, a Western Australian man hurt killer on a Vietnamese immigrant in Perth, the Australian news agency reported. The High Court of Western Australia, (West Australian Supreme Court), recently ruled that the suspect was not guilty of intentional murder charges because he was mentally ill.
Year Nineteen Eighty-nine, 62-year-old Vietnamese immigrant (Van Phan Nguyen, was stabbed in the head, breast and upper body as he walked home on a path near train station, with a knife cut of as many as 28 knives.
The 56-year-old suspect, Marotta (Vincenzo Carlo Marotta), was tried without a jury in the High Court of Western Australia in which judge Jenkins (Lindy Jenkins) delivered his verdict today. This means Marotta will be treated in a mental hospital for an indefinite period of time by detain.
During the trial, court learned that Nguyen`s murder weapon was another weapon in an accident. In August 1988, Marotta stabbed a man and a woman at a (Fremantle) nightclub in Freeman with the knife. Marotta was sentenced to jail, but police returned the weapon to him after his release.
About a month after his release, Marotta stabbed Nguyen to death with the knife. "I was out of control," he said in a video of the man being questioned by the police at the trial on that day. I thought, `well, these voices tell me to kill someone, then I`ll kill this man`. But I don`t want to kill anyone-I`m very sick. "
It is reported, in February 1990, Marotta once again jailed in Kunzhou for stabbing with a knife. Court learned that the police went to Kunzhou in 1990 to interrogate Marotta, but did not charge him. It was not until 2016 that police reopened the murder of Ruan Wenpan and filed murder charges against Marotta.
