A man in (Deception Bay), north of Brisbane, Queensland, threatened police with a knife and was shot dead on the spot.
According to Messenger Post, Queensland Superintendent White (Craig White) revealed that around 02:30 this afternoon, police officers arrived at a RV park in Dissepson Bay. Police officers were threatened with a knife by a man at the scene, then chose to open fire, causing fatal injuries.
Two police officers, including a senior police officer and a police officer, were on the scene. White said police fired at least one shot at the man in the incident, but it was not clear how many shots were fired or whether both officers fired.
A male police officer was slightly injured in the incident. The Police Conduct investigation Section, (Ethical Standards Command), will be involved in the investigation.
White said he had not contacted the families of the deceased.

Residents of the RV park revealed to the media that the deceased was in his early sixties.
(Tia Keasey), a woman, said the incident was disturbing, but not surprising, and that police often came here to deal with family disputes. The victim usually looked friendly rather than a violent man.
