According to the Daily Mail, a shopping mall in Victoria is often looted by a gang of teenagers, and shopkeepers and customers suffer.

(Westfield), a shopping mall in (Fountain Gate), (Narre Warren) Springs Gate, NalWarren, is said to be the target of a gang of teenagers, with more than a dozen people ransacking stores and causing serious damage.

Fearful shop workers say the mall is unsafe because youth gangs attack customers.

According to a recent survey, hundreds of people said they would avoid going to the mall because of violence problems.

Some business owners say their shops and restaurants are targeted.

"these teenagers usually break into the shop and overturn all the tables and chairs," said a coffee shop worker. "I`m too scared to make any resistance. We`re afraid of what`s going to happen."

Another woman said her 14-year-old son was attacked and robbed by six teenagers in a food parlor two weeks ago. The woman was disappointed in the management and security of the mall.

Another woman said she was attacked by six girls on April 20, while security guards were watching.

Another woman said her 6-year-old granddaughter had been slapped by a woman.

In addition, shop assistants in the mall were beaten to require 13 stitches in their legs.

Police say they will patrol the area regularly and step up co-operation with shopping center management.
