Singapore topped the list of global passport strengths in 2017 (Global Passport Power Rank 2017), according to the Daily Mail, with Singapore at the top of the list, making it the world`s best-used passport with the highest degree of freedom of passage, according to the Daily Mail. Australian passports ranked seventh. The global passport ranking, compiled by Arton Capital, a financial consultancy, is published on the Passport Index website.


The ranking is ranked in order by visa-free points for national passports, with higher points indicating that passport holders can be granted visa-free entry in more countries, or visa-on-arrival. Arton Capital`s statement points out that the higher the points are, the higher the points mean that passport holders can be granted visa-free entry in more countries or visa on arrival. Paraguay recently announced visa-free entry for Singaporean nationals, raising its visa-free points to 159.

This means that more than 3.4 million Singapore passport holders can enter the country with visa-on-arrival or visa-free entry, the largest number in the world. This is the first time in history that Asian countries have passports on top of the list. Most of the world`s top 10 passports come from Europe and the United States, with Germany at the top of the list in the past two years. Germany is now in second place, with no visa-free access to the country, and 158 countries and regions with visa-on-arrival. Sweden and South Korea tied for third place, with 157 visa-free passport holders (and regions). U. S. passports ranked sixth, alongside Malaysia, Ireland and Canada, with 154 visa-free countries (and regions). Australia ranked seventh, tied with New Zealand and Greece.

At present, Australia, New Zealand, Greece to implement visa-free or visa-on-arrival policy in 153 countries and regions. Chinese passports ranked 66th, juxtaposed with Sierra Leone`s (Sierra Leone), Ghana, (Ghana), Cuba. Chinese passport holders can enter 60 countries with visa on arrival or visa-free. North Korea and Libya are both ranked 86, and visa-free are open to both countries and regions, which now have 38 visa-on-arrival (visa-on-arrival) countries and regions. Afghanistan is at the bottom, with only 22 countries granting visa-free or visa-free access to Afghan passport holders.

Passport Index website says the influence of U.S. passports has been declining since Trump (Donald Trump) took office. Recently, Turkey and the Central African Republic cancelled visa-free entry for American citizens.
