On Friday night, a 53-year-old Western Australian woman, her husband and a group of friends went to Mandurah to catch crabs and disappeared. The woman`s body was finally found yesterday after her family and police searched for failure overnight.
Mandurah, about 72 kilometers from Perth, is known as a crab-catching resort, according to WAToday. In the past 10 years, the Chinese woman has come here at least 10 times, familiar with the local.
At 07:45 on Friday evening, as usual, she and her husband and a group of friends went to the area to catch crabs. They were in the water on the shore of Herron Point, and the couple and the other friends were fishing separately.
10:00, the couple lost contact in deep water, the husband repeatedly shouted that his wife did not respond; 10:15, the police received a missing call for help. Although the police and the plane searched overnight, they did not find the woman`s whereabouts.
The next morning at 9 a.m., the dead body was found about 2 km north of Herron Point. Her husband was also in shock after searching for his wife for hours in cold water.
Local Sheriff Marty Hayter said, "although the couple often come, as the weather and tide change, the same place will become different. And it`s dark, it`s very low visibility, and it`s hard to see each other even face-to-face, and they`re likely to get lost.
"it was very cold at night," Hayter said. "by 7 a.m., the temperature had only risen to 3 degrees Celsius, and the families of the deceased were very grieved."
Les Wassell, a volunteer caretaker at Herron Point, said the tide at the mouth of the night was the highest in months, and it was difficult to be aware of the perilous underwater conditions in windy conditions. "probably because of the high tide, the woman slipped into a trench or deep water by mistake, causing the water to fall short of the top."

Wassell said that there were more than 300 people in the Herron Point parking lot that night, of whom 100 were catching crabs in the estuary. "I was surprised that no one heard their cries for help and carried out rescue," Wassell said. The coroner will investigate the matter further.
