Two jungle fires broke out in Queensland on Sunday. Many hikers have been trapped and have been rescued by emergency workers.

On Sunday afternoon, a wildfire broke out in (Blackdown Tableland National Park), the Blankdoan Plateau National Park, 150km west of (Rockhampton) in Rockhampton, central Queensland, according to Radio 7. Earlier reports said 12 people might have been trapped at the scene.

According to firefighters, eight people were rescued from the fire area, one was rescued after heading to the park`s makeshift barracks, and four refused to help.

The Queensland Ambulance Center (Queensland Ambulance) said it provided medical treatment to 11 residents, including three children, who had slightly inhaled smoke.

Authorities sent rescue helicopters to the site, which were cancelled after trapped personnel were rescued on the ground.

Meanwhile, a wildfire near (Herberton), far north of Herberton, Queensland, has now been downgraded from "observation and action" to "recommendation".
