A worrisome report found that Australia`s third-largest city would be an "hard place to live" by 2050, due to extreme heat.

Chapman (Sarah Chapman) conducted a four-year study of climate in Brisbane, published in the International Journal of climatology. There will be more people at risk of disease and death in Brisbane, she said. "this is not the way we want to go."

"We think the current unusually hot weather will become the norm in the future," she said in an interview with Aguang. "this means that even in the shade, outdoor work and exercise need to be restricted, otherwise there is a high risk of illness."

The study looked at how rising temperatures will affect people`s ability to work and activity outdoors. Chapman says not only young and elderly people will be affected, but healthy adults will also be affected.

Climate change is considered the biggest factor, says Chapman, as long as we``act quickly`` and need to``take`` these problems seriously, there is still time to solve these problems.

"Brisbane`s future approach can also mitigate some of the effects or make things worse," she said.

She suggested avoiding the loss of green space in and around the city.

In another study, she found that temperatures would continue to soar regardless of action against climate change.

Since Australia recorded its hottest summer on record last year, she has called on politicians to do more.
