Australia`s largest mobile operator, Australian Telecom (Telstra), suffered its second nationwide mobile network outage this month, with 4G networks and network connections cut off across Australia.

Shortly before 10:00 on Monday morning, the Australian Telecom network collapsed and users said they were forced to switch to a 3G network and were unable to access the Internet.

The company initially did not acknowledge the problem, but more than 3600 Australco customers reported problems to Aussie Outages.

The telecommunications representative of Australia subsequently indicated that the "We are working to address a problem that affects the mobile services of the sector. We`re sorry for the inconvenience."

Ironically, the failure also affected the Australia Telecom status page, where customers were asked to check their areas for planned outages or maintenance.

The company`s social media team finally acknowledged the problems after 10:40 and told customers that "there is a problem affecting our mobile network."
