The two shared electric pedals were approved for trial use in the Adelaide CBD.

South Australia`s Adelaide City Council, (Adelaide City Council), announced a six-month pilot program starting next week for the sharing of electric scooters, Beam and Ride, according to Channel 7.

Lime, another company that shares electric scooters, launched a pilot project in Adelaide from February to April, but failed to apply for a new license.

Lime now has to clean up all the shared electric scooters on the streets.

Beth Davidson-Park, head of operations at Adelaide City Council, said the second shared electric scooter pilot project, which would end in mid-October, would provide a reference for future regulation of the permanent operation of shared electric pedals.

All shared electric scooters are equipped with GPS and operated through smartphone applications. The shared electric scooter pilot is limited to CBD, if cyclists try to cross the border, the shared electric scooter will gradually stop. In addition, shared electric scooters are prohibited from entering Blue Road shopping street (Rundle Mall).
