Fraud gane stole bank information from thousands of Australian residents and used it to defraud millions of Australian dollars.

According to the Daily Mail, (Westpac) issued an urgent warning to clients that it could be the target of phishing fraud by phone or text message.

"We have stepped up surveillance of your account and asked you to pay attention to any suspicious activities," WestPacific Bank said in a notification email. "if you receive text messages or phone calls from unknown sources, please remain vigilant."

Bank said customers at other banks had also been affected and had notified all customers of security vulnerabilities.

The bank was attacked by lawbreakers in June this year. Seven bank accounts automatically search for 98000 PayID account information over a six-week period for user data.

(NAB), the Australian National Bank, also appears to have been targeted in the latest round of hacking attacks. Customers of the National Bank of Australia, and even customers of other banks, reported receiving text messages claiming to be from the National Bank of Australia. SMS content requires customers to submit bank account information and then use it to defraud money.

The Federal Bank of Australia also warned its customers that they could be targeted after "another financial institution has been attacked with precision."

It is reported that fraud gane hacked into the database of the new payment platform (New Payments Platform) to obtain the PayID information of thousands of users.

Leaked information includes user name, phone number, bank area code (BSB) and account number. Swindlers can ransack accounts by simply getting the account password.

The new payment platform confirms that the account remains secure unless users fall into the trap of fishing fraud and hand over passwords or other data that could be used to invade.
