Rescue efforts are still under way as a humpback whale caught dead from a fishing net appears in (Bondi Beach) waters on Sydney Bondi Beach.

A vessel belonging to the Sydney Whaling Club, (Whale Watching Sydney), found a humpback whale about 2 nautical miles off Bondi Beach, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. The crew at first thought the humpback whale was sleeping, but approached it and found it caught dead in the net.

The humpback whale`s pectoral fin is almost fixed on one side of the body by a fishing net, and a rope is stuck in its mouth all the way to the left side of the body. Moreover, the wound on the tail of humpback whale that was strangled by rope is still bleeding. Based on the depth of the wound, Dick (Justin Hawco), a crew member of the Sydney Whaling Club, determined that the humpback whale had been caught in a fishing net for at least two days.

After two hours of rescue, the crew of the Sydney Whaling Club rescued the humpback whale from its fishing trap, but failed to cut all the ropes on its torso.

A (NSW National Parks) spokesman for the New State National Park Service said it was unable to complete all rescue work on Tuesday due to a lack of time to close the line.

At 07:30 on Wednesday morning, (NSW Office of Environment and Heritage), the NSW Environment and Heritage Department, sent helicopters, and the NPS flotilla began searching for the humpback whale`s whereabouts. Once the humpback whale is found, it will unwind all the winding ropes on its torso and assess its health.

Hawk says the humpback whale is clearly exhausted and he is reluctant to speculate about its chances of survival.
