Medical research in Australia has once again made a major breakthrough! Scientists have developed new ways to treat osteoarthritis, benefiting hundreds of millions of patients worldwide.
The drug, known as pentosulfate sodium (Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium), can effectively relieve pain in the onset of osteoarthritis, helping hundreds of millions of people around the world to stay away from the pain, the Daily Mail reported.
Sodium pentosulfate has long been used to treat urinary tract infections, but Australian scientists Jegan Krishnan and Peter Ghosh have found that the drug can also be used to treat osteoarthritis.
