On Tuesday, when a woman with her pet, (wombat), appeared in court in Benalla District Court, Victoria, her companions were stunned.
To consider the koala, Benalla police called in local authorities to inspect it.
Authorities found that the woman did not keep a license for the koala.
So the Wildlife Administration took the koala.
"the investigation is under way," the state police said on its Instagram page.
The statement also included a picture of a female policeman holding a lovely koala.
We will also wait to see if the incident will inspire the creation of a new law and order department: the koala ad hoc group.
