What country and which school graduates are the most popular among employers around the world?

A recent 2016 ranking of "employers` favorite college graduates worldwide", led by Emerging, a French human resources consultancy, was published in the Times higher Education (Times Higher Education).

This is the agency`s sixth year to compile the list. The main selection is through a global survey of more than a thousand employers.

Australia is at the top of the list of 150 universities from all over the world, ranking 22nd at the National University of Australia, ranking fourth in a row, according to the latest 2016 list.

In the past three years, Australian National University ranked 32nd (2015), 23rd (2014) and 20th (2013) respectively.

In addition, in 2012, Monash University was Australia`s "leader" on the list.

Other Australian universities asked: University of Melbourne, 47th; University of Sydney, 49th; Monash, 57th; and University of New South Wales, 64th.

Australia on the list of universities

The ranking is based on an online survey of 2500 hiring managers from major international companies and 3500 executives from more than 20 countries across industries and sectors.

These countries include Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Each company surveyed had more than 5000 employees and recruited more than 50 new graduates each year.

The executives were surveyed in the anthology of what qualities they value most in hiring, and which college graduates are most likely to meet these expectations.

But the survey shows that most employers agree that good communication skills and adaptability are the things they value most in choosing employees.

Professor Margaret Harding, current president of the Australian National University, said the results of the list confirm the university`s world-class level of education and focus on how students can better respond to international challenges.

"this shows that students at ANU have the ability to cope with the challenges of a modern work environment and that they are more favored by employers," he said.

"our students have a very international perspective, and the school has been encouraging them to seek overseas experience."

In this year`s list, the top three came from American universities, including California Institute of Technology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.

The top ten of the list are as follows.

Phil Baty, editor of the Times higher Education World University rankings, said the survey provided students with a lot of insight into employers` needs.

"in this year of political upheaval, many employers are likely to choose graduates with a degree background that is recognized by many large businesses and international employers," he said.

"and this list will help them make such an important decision."

While browsing the page of the list, the editor also found a list of local Australian employers` favorite local college graduates. The top 10 are as follows, for reference only.

The editor`s conclusion, objectively speaking, the list is only a reference, but also can not be biased, blindly obedient.

For college graduates who are about to enter the workplace, it is the most important thing to improve their quality and cultivate their communication skills.
