According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Prime Minister credit Mosuisse (Scott Morrison) has confirmed that immigration policy reforms will be carried out to address the surging population in Sydney and Melbourne, and that measures consistent with local realities will be formulated in the light of regional realities.

Mr Mosuisse said it was "possible" to put in place strict measures to curb the temporary influx of migrants into crowded cities, but stressed that oversimplified measures could be detrimental to areas in dire need of labour. To accept the exclusive power of Fafus Media.

In the interview, the prime minister said population problems across Australia are as diverse as the weather and that the government will not adopt a one-size-fits-all approach to population policy.

He said the government will not just use the average of population growth across Australia as a reference. "[because] this is not the case. Just like the average precipitation problem, (Albury) in Alberta is raining today, but Quill (Quilpie) is a sunny day," he said.

The government is working on an immigration policy based on local realities, focusing on areas where immigration needs to grow, such as individual capital cities and remote areas. The shift in focus of the population policy began with the administration of former Prime Minister Tembo (Malcolm Turnbull), and the new cabinet accelerated the process.

Mr Mosuisse said proper population policies needed to take into account "multiple factors" and that the composition of immigration was more important than the media`s focus on the total number of immigrants entering Australia. The decline in immigration may have a positive impact, he said, but the composition of the population may not be beneficial to economic development. "the key is the composition of the immigrant population and the implementation of relevant policies," he said.

By June 2017, the population of Grand Sydney and Melbourne had increased by one hundred and one thousand nine hundred and ninety nine and one hundred and twenty five thousand respectively, of which 85,000 and 80 000 had emigrated. The two cities account for more than half of Australia`s new population, and the government is working on measures to encourage migrants to settle in remote areas, and will even consider curbing the number of foreign students in some areas, Mr Mosuisse said.
