"while construction technicians may still be busy working until the end of FY18 and the beginning of FY19, the decline in new jobs will put pressure on their future income and drag economic into recession," Levitt said.

Construction craftsmen in parts of Sydney fell by as much as 64 percent, while parts of Melbourne and Brisbane fell 74 percent and 63 percent, respectively, according to data.

Melbourne`s Bannokburn (Bannockburn) and Shutaran Creek (Sutherland Creek) were the hardest hit, with job losses reaching 74 percent. Brisbane`s Burbank (Burbank) also recorded its biggest drop of 63%.

"Mondarin (Mundaring) is the most affected area in Perth," Levitt said. The Perth market has been declining for years and may not have bottomed out. "
