An Australian nurse has been jailed for three months after she lied about divorcing her husband and scammed a single parent benefit of up to $100,000 from the Centrelink.

According to the Daily Mail, Queensland Gold Coast Pimpam (Pimpama) woman Deng Jie (Nicole Dunjey) in 2010 with her boyfriend marry, and reported marriage status to the Australian Welfare Department in accordance with regulations.

However, when Deng realized that it would cost her single-parent family benefits, she called the Welfare Department again and said she had broken up with her husband.

Over the next six years, Deng Jie, who works for nurse, received a total of A $99662.08 in single-parent family benefits.

In 2016, Deng Jie and his husband applied for an (NAB) loan from the National Bank of Australia.

Australian Inland Revenue Department (ATO) found that the two men shared the same address and traveled to New Zealand together, and Deng Jie`s husband listed her as her closest family.

Authorities then sent surveillance to confirm that the two lived together.

Today, Deng Jie pleaded guilty in court to dishonest access to economic benefits. Deng Jie claims that she did so to raise children because her husband did not earn enough (A $400000 in six years).

However, the judge ruled that Deng Jie`s violations were "persistent and deliberate" that Deng Jie was ordered to return all benefits, while serving prison sentences until December 11, with a further A $1000 guard bond upon release.
