Police are still investigating the cause of a man`s head injury on a highway in North Sydney
On Sunday morning, a man fell on the Warringah highway in North Sydney with a head injury.
Police said they had received a report that a man was found on the road in High Street around 04:40 on Sunday, and paramedics rushed south to the driveway of the highway.
The man was treated on the spot and then taken to St Vincent`s Hospital, where he was seriously ill.
A spokesman for the new state police said it was unclear whether the man had fallen off an overpass or had been hit on the road.
Police set up a crime scene on the southbound carriageway of the highway, just north of the Harbour Bridge, and urged drivers to be careful when approaching the area.
Lines 5 and 6, which approach the port bridge, were closed but reopened after police left the site before 8 a.m. on Sunday.
