According to the Australian newspaper, Hillding (Rene Hidding), a senior member of the Tahrena Liberal Party, admitted that he was what the media reported as "suspected sexual invasion child politicians." However, he strongly denied the accusation and announced his resignation.
Earlier, the Australian weekend reported that a woman claimed she had been repeatedly sexual invasion, by a current politician between the ages of 15 and 16 but did not disclose the politician`s name.
This afternoon, former leader of the Tahrena Liberal Party and 23-year-old congressman Hilding issued a statement saying that he was the politician referred to in the news, or that he would file a defamation lawsuit.
"after this devastating attack, my first goal is to ensure my own well-being and that of my family," the 66-year-old said in a statement. In order to maintain my family`s normal privacy and due process, and to properly handle this matter, the best way is for me to handle it as an ordinary citizen, not as a politician. I have been to the government building and will withdraw from politics from today. I have nothing to hide, and I hope that authorities will investigate without further political motivation or public comment. "
It is reported that the complainant is actually Hilding`s wife`s sister, now 54-year-old Strobe (Karen Stroble). Strobe said he was willing to make his name public and intended to file a full, formal complaint with the police.
Two Tasmanian police officers will travel to Queensland tomorrow to learn from Strobe.
