Murben City Council (CITY of Melbourne) CEO Rimmer (Ben Rimmer) resigned after four years in office.

The 46-year-old chief executive of Murben City Council told lawmakers he will not seek re-election and will step down in December, the Pioneer Sun reported. But even if Rimmer wants to remain in the A $ four hundred and sixty thousand-a-year city hall post, it may not be approved.

Last night, Rimmer announced his resignation at a closed meeting of the city council. Rimmer admits the sexual harassment investigation against former mayor Doyle (Robert Doyle) was the main reason for his decision to resign.

After the scandal surfaced in December last year, Rimmer quickly began an investigation. However, the widespread mood within parliament was subsequently questioned, including Doyle`s successor.

"I believe that as a consequence of the Doyle misconduct investigation, I need to leave the organization to help lawmakers move towards normal relations," Rimmer said in a statement. I am proud that my team and I have handled this unprecedented situation in a fair and transparent manner. "

Mr. Rimmer also said it should not be put in such a difficult position that non-elected civil service surveys are in fact elected representatives of their employers. He wants the state government to revise its local government regulation, (Local Government Act), so that other government chief executives don`t have to face the same problem.

When he officially announced his resignation this morning, Rimmer said he had been planning to step down by the end of 2018 or early 2019, leaving time for parliament to appoint a new chief executive so that he could stand firm before the 2020 election.

Luo De scholar, Rimmer in February 2015 as chief executive of Murben City Council before serving as a senior government, including Australia`s Prime Minister Cabinet, Assistant Deputy Director of Human Services, and so on.
