A small town in Australia uses innovative waste filtering systems to reduce river waste pollution in a very simple way, and netizens from around the world say they admire it.

According to the Daily Mail, the town of (Kwinana), 38 kilometers south of Perth, Western Australia, earlier piloted the installation of two sewerage nets to reduce garbage drifting through the drainage system.

The odd-looking defiler was uploaded to social networking sites, prompting environmentalists to call it a "genius."

One netizen called it a "giant polluted tea bag," while others said it looked like a cheap solution.

The two nets are said to be located between residential areas and natural areas at two drain exits. A total of 370 kg of garbage was collected during the six-month trial period.

Mayor Adams (Carol Adams) says the pilot project has been a huge success.

The total cost of the project is A $20, 000, including design, manufacture and installation.

The Quinana Council has now selected three additional sites to be installed.
