Some people would like to line up to buy Bunnings`s bread sausage, but a man drones to the nearest Bunnings store to pick up the sausage.

A video appeared on the pipeline showing the man sitting at home operating drones flying to the Sunbury Bunnings parking lot. As a result, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) began an investigation.

The video was later deleted, but CASA spokesman Peter Gibson said the incident violated several drone regulations.

This includes flying within 30 metres from the man, flying out of sight of the operator, and using drones over crowded skies.

Gibson said the video showed drones flying over a house, flying over a four-lane road and hovering over the Bunnings barbecue stand.

An accomplice then allegedly placed a bread sausage in a container connected with wires and drones. It is not clear whether the man ordered onions.

The video was later reposted on Facebook, showing a man receiving drones in a bathtub in the backyard of a house.

But before that, the drone dropped a note in Bunnings`s parking lot saying, "Please buy a sausage and put it in a container. Here`s A $10."

Men face fines of up to A $9000 for violating drone rules.
