Sydney impression June 21, according to 9 NEWS reported: April this year, the Sydney Harbour Bridge (Sydney Harbour Bridge) man Wayne Cook was sentenced to 12 months in prison today.

Wayne Cook has a history of mental illness and takes meth on his own. As he cycled past Sydney Harbour Bridge in April, he decided to climb to the top.

The 43-year-old man pleaded guilty to all offences and was sentenced to 12 months` imprisonment and a fine of $2400.

His defense lawyer told the court that the first two days before Cook climbed the bridge was the day of his son`s death. It was the tragedy of his son`s death that led him to take drugs and commit crimes.

His actions forced police to make a full-scale move, shutting down all two-way access to the Harbour Bridge, halting traffic in the city for five and a half hours.

When the police finally arrested him, the farce did not end.

When the police took him to St Vincent`s Hospital for a mental health assessment, he tried to take it away from Senior Police Officer John Baldacchino`s holster.

Prosecutors told the court that if Cook succeeds at that time, it could cause 15 casualties in the hospital.

The magistrate admitted that his life was a mess and suffered from mental illness, but said the court had no choice but to sentence him to prison to keep him away from the community.

After serving a period of time, Cook will not qualify for parole until December.
