A Chinese-American firm in Sydney and his wife have asked for 106 hours a week at a salary of only$2.33 an hour, and only two days of leave a year.
On Tuesday, (Fair Work Ombudsman) filed a prosecute lawsuit against Lin Jie (Tony Lam), general manager of Australian China International (Award Global), and his wife, Ms. (Tiffanie Tong, in the Federal Court of Australia, (Federal Court), the Australian Fair work investigators filed a prosecute lawsuit against Lin Jie, general manager of Australian China International (Award Global), and his wife, Ms. (Tiffanie Tong, according to the Daily Telegraph.
According to accusation, Australia`s fair work investigators, Lin Jie requires Filipino babysitter Romero (Joan Doren Calderon Romero) to work 88 to 106 hours a week at an annual salary of A $12574.
In a petition filed with the Australian Federal Court, the Australian Office of the Fair work investigators wrote that Romero worked at Lin Jie`s family from May 2016 to May 2017, during which time he took only two days off. One day in October 2016 and the other in April 2017.
Romero is responsible for the care of the two children of Lin Jie’s, including cleaning the family`s Pitt St apartment, taking up and leaving school, cooking, laundry, buying daily sundries and horticulture.
Romero works from 6 a.m. to 11:00 on weekdays and from 7 a.m. to 11:00 on weekends.
The case will be repeated on October 29.
