A Sydney father pleaded with Woolworths in disregard of each other, saying the supermarket could not find milk powder to feed its children because the supermarket had changed to limit the amount of formula it bought.

Mr. Ivan Chan (Chen, along with two other customers, wrote a letter to Sydney`s Metropolitan Gate last Monday asking Woolworths to restore the order to two cans per customer.

Woolworths decided in August to remove the existing cap so that each customer can buy up to eight cans.

"We have to call all the shops in Sydney to feed our children," Mr. Chen said in the handwritten letter.

"the problem has become more and more serious since the Woolworths was raised to eight cans."

"We ask Woolworths to restore the previous cap to ensure that Australian families have adequate supply."

Three angry parents signed the letter, but Mr. Chen has not received a reply from the supermarket giant.

A spokesman for Woolworths told Channel 7 that the company had recently capped the purchase of formula milk due to improved market availability.

"We will continue to carefully observe the supply volume, supply arrangements and customer views, and make adjustments as necessary," the statement said.
