A Jetstar plane to Melbourne was parked on the tarmac in hot weather for hours as passengers fainted and the babies were stripped of their diapers.

Jetstar flight JQ18 was scheduled to leave Phuket at 10:20 on Friday night, but was delayed by more than two hours due to two technical glitches and a passenger disembarking for medical reasons.

One technical glitch affected ground power to control air conditioning, forcing passengers to endure tropical heat in Thailand.

In a statement to news.com.au, Jetstar said that while engineers were repairing planes, the crew often provided cold water to customers, "trying to make the passengers as comfortable as possible."

But the passengers on board said differently. Angry passengers rushed to the company's Facebook page, calling it "terrible" and Jetstar's customer service "disgusting."

News.com.au spoke to passenger Laura Beach-Mahoney,. She said seven passengers were sick with heat, but the passengers didn't get any updates.

"the babies were only wearing diapers, the plane ran out of water, and we had no air conditioning for two hours." She said.

"A young girl had an asthma attack, and an empty safety manual gave her the wind, while an old man fainted-he also took off his shorts. He needs an oxygen bottle. "

After more than two hours of waiting, they were finally allowed off the plane and took off at 4 p.m. on Saturday. But Beach-Mahoney said the airlines didn't even provide them with accommodation near the airport.

"after we got off the plane, no one told us what to do for hours. We may have to spend the night at the airport had it not been for the passengers to protest collectively. "

"then our bus drivers don't drive buses. We're really worried about our safety. The driver lost his way and it took us more than 2 hours to get to the hotel, far from the airport, and we returned to Phuket's Badong! "
