What do you think of the data?
The following data are from the Australian Bureau of Statistics` 2011 census, which is based on the birthplace of the immigrant population in the region, but excludes New Zealand and British immigrants.
The data refer to immigrants not only for those with Australian nationality or permanent residence status, but also for international students and tourists who remain in the region at the time of the census. In this data, the Chinese population from mainland China is calculated separately from those of Hong Kong and Taiwan.
The color of the region represents the highest proportion of immigrants in the region, while the text and figures in the box show the region`s top three immigrant populations.
