Working closely with airlines such as Qantas (Qantas) and United Arab Emirates (Emirates), the Australian Border Defense Agency (ABF) successfully intercepted a large number of criminals trying to fly into Australia, illegal immigrants and terrorist-related elements, up more than 300 percent year-on-year.

In 2017-18, the Australian Border Guard intercepted 555 foreigners trying to board the plane, up 308 percent from 136 a year earlier, according to the Australian News Network. Some of the passengers were driven off the plane because they constituted "threat" for border security, including those who tried to detain or work illegally in Australia, suspects and those who posed a risk to Australia`s national security.

Hundreds of passengers, including a Chinese man, were intercepted for fake identity documents. The man, who tried to board a fraudulent tourist visa to Melbourne, was spotted using facial recognition technology by (Airline Liaison Officer), the Australian Border Service airline liaison officer.

It is estimated that Australian taxpayers would have to pay A $15 million to deport people who entered Australia with forged documents if they were not intercepted before they entered the country. In addition, 4584 passengers were intercepted at the airport and banned from Australia in 2017-18.

The increase in intercepted numbers before boarding in 2017-18 depends on the efforts of the Australian Border Guard. Airline liaison officers are working more closely with airlines, raising awareness among airline staff about identifying potential threat.

Domestic minister Dutton (Peter Dutton) noted that airline liaison officers have "an important" role in protecting Australia`s border security. Assistant Commissioner for Strategic Border Command, Border Service (Erin)

Dale) agrees with what the internal affairs minister has said. "it is vital to know who will enter the country and ensuring the integrity of the Australian immigration system is one of the priorities of the Australian Border Guard," she said.

Among the foreigners intercepted before boarding were known to include three Chinese men with fake documents trying to board to Melbourne, and one Chinese man with forged documents trying to go to Sydney.

The Australian Border Service has liaison officers at 19 airports outside the country. The government also earmarked A $6.9 million in May`s federal budget.
