Weekend, take you to Sydney's Best Antique Store.

[Social News]     27 Sep 2018
Antique shops and old furniture stores are good places for any history fan. In Sydney, antique shops large and small by the side of the road make people forget to return. Take a look at these shops. Maybe the unusual store owners will tell you a wonderful story.

Mitchell Road Antique and Design Centre

17 Bourke Rd, Alexandria

You`ll be willing to spend the afternoon, or even all day, walking between rows of stalls in sprawling shops. Shimmering lights from the ceiling shine on goods from more than 60 stores, and there must be an age, style or oddity that will make you stop looking for antiquity. A stall looks like a 1970s-style kitchen with a table made of teak plywood, a buffet table, a slow stew, a hand-held mixer and mechanical cooking. A cabinet full of Glomesh-branded ladies` wallets, deliberately colored shelves filled with ancient glassware, and "Men`s Private Space" full of industrial-style lighting accessories and garage equipment.

If you want to pay the price, friendly vendors nearby will be happy to cut it for you. Friendship is not in vain here. But when you`re on a tour, don`t expect to find them on Mitchell Street, the all-inclusive caravan who packed his bags and moved to Berkshire Street in Alexandria four years ago.

Bloodworth Bellamy

539 King Street, Newtown

As we walked down Bellamy Street in Bradworth and watched the window of the well-stocked store, we missed the sight of Nick Cadey--, the owner of the Newtown store, who was very charismatic. At the moment he was playing with his colorful collection, the personal belongings of the president of the Australian Magic Club in the 1970s. Pulling his back from the cloak, light display and magic wand, he introduced us to the unusual collections.

We walked into the narrow storefront of King`s Street, uncluttered, lined with antiques from England, France and Japan from the 19th to 20th centuries. Hornby train and Textile Sculpture are the treasure of the town. The Japanese Kobe doll suit, made in the 1850s, has a gap with Japanese geisha wigs next to it. On the other side of the aisle, there was a tin groove painted like wood, a technique used by French ships in the 19th century to prevent tin canals from rotting. Zealous collectors, in addition to collecting furniture and animal specimens, also sell cheap, popular items, such as a comic book from the 1980s for $8.

Quintessential Duck Egg Blue

487 Darling St, Balmain

In this Barman shop, old lollipop cans or antique clocks are neatly and carefully placed together. In the corner of the shop were fitness balls that were popular in the 1930s and forties, with an ancient fencing mask. In the window is a huge British factory textile-ring collection that looks more like art than utility under the cotton package.

The collection was carefully chosen by the enthusiastic shopkeeper, Leanne Carter-Taylor, who chose her favorite collection. She has opened a shop for almost ten years, and it seems Sydney people love the way Leanne is displayed. The rich variety of items on the shelves is also one of the reasons the shops are popular. The collection includes industrial-style stools and lamps in the farmhouse kitchen, faded chopping blocks and rolling pins, glass wine cans, and perpetual calendars.

Apostle Bird

367a Pittwater Rd, Manly

To our surprise, we found a baby gas mask, and a pair of prosthetics, very attractive. As soon as they entered the new antique store on Sunnybird Street, they were deeply attracted to the teenage metal prosthetics hanging under the crossbeam. Unlike the rough French furniture store and the Western Mountain Travelers, the atmosphere is even more creepy.

The police report also confirmed that tourists have been screaming for people, shouting police killings, etc., as shown by the video of passers-by....

Seasonal Concepts

122 Redfern St, Redfern

As soon as you enter the concept of season, you notice the warm atmosphere created by the dry mountain longan and fresh roses in the store. This precious collection of pre-1950s Australian furniture, collectibles and pottery can also be used as flower shops-they offer flower workshops that can be rented as venues or movie props. Walking in the shop as if back in his childhood, he curiously went to his grandfather`s house to discover rows of ancient pottery cans, wooden wardrobes cluttered with objects, and a shimmer of light coming through stained glass windows.

The store is not related to the above-mentioned theme, is a variety of animal collections. Beautiful, carefully feathered peacocks and well-preserved seahorses can be brought home for just $83. If you like cheap goods and are not afraid of heights, you can climb the stairs and look for rare kitchen supplies in the landing cabinets. New items are intermingled with old items, but most new household items are continuously supplied or produced locally, and flax products and pillows are decorated with original prints-even from the back of an ancient dowry box.

Palace Trader

53 Palace St, Petersham

Gavin Sainsbury and Scott Jenkins, who live in Sydney, spent a month in France looking for antiques and restored furniture to enrich their shops on Palace Street. Antique posters, glassware and oak furniture can be found everywhere. This is the first time that the couple have retailed collectibles after years of developing a collection hobby.

During the trip, the couple would drive to shops and backyard stores to find antiques. Their collection includes mirrors made in the 1920s decorated with ancient crevices that Jenkins told me it was found in a cafe in Lyon. A large wooden table in the middle of the shop was once the baker`s table. In addition, there are age-old art, ceramics and decorative furniture supplies. You can buy all of this from Peter Sham`s shop.

Dust

381 Liverpool St, Darlinghurst

The dusty antiques store on Liverpool Street is lined with exotic items at the door. Two Egyptian-style movie prop bars guard Frida Kahlo`s huge oil paintings next to unclassified furniture and old costume models. Walk into the store and you`ll find an array of antique toys, antique jewelry and new works of art.

The drugstore in Darling Harbor is a popular and enduring antique store. After 19 years of business, the store`s stacks of ceiling-high disposable items and well-preserved collections remain unchanged. Shopkeepers have no strict rules on the style, times or traditions of the collection. You will see centuries-old Nepalese tribal masks, toy robots made in the 1960s, and old French perfume bottles.

Potts Point Galleries

67 MacLeay St, Sydney

In the shop, you see objects placed behind shiny glass cabinets, and use galleries to describe them as appropriate. From a shop that specialises in decorative art porcelain to a shop that sells antique silverware and Waterford crystal glassware, you`ll be visiting different museums.

The 20 merchants operating at Potts Point Gallery are selling rare items that attract your attention. You can go to the back of the corner looking for antiques from Neolithic Chinese and Roman culture, or choose well-preserved clothing from the 1940s or colorful shirts produced in the 1980s. Or watch the last century, but still look new dial-up phone, in short, can be thought galloping.

Ici et la

255 Riley Street, Surry Hills

If you want to find an antique store that strictly selects and sells French collections, then Ici et L à is your first choice. You can find desks, dressers or mirrors centuries ago, as well as original objects influenced by European traditions. Andrew Forst, who has run Surrey Hill for nearly 17 years, has brought a wave of Paris to the region. Forst loves to travel. Searching for antiques in France and Belgium, a series of original folding canvas reclining chairs have been set in motion. Recliners use brightly colored striped fabrics directly from the Fassi border and can also be translated as "the fabric of the sun."

Ici et L à gives you a taste of French romanticism and fashion. Buying new and old items is an investment-two folding canvas recliners will cost you $400, and other antiques will be more expensive, but they create a nice atmosphere for your private dinner or backyard dinner.
