An Australian fighter plane crashed on Friday, killing the pilot on board.
Police have arrived at the scene near Moe-Rawson Rd Road when a Victorian fighter plane crashed at the (Tanjil South) paddock in Tangiernan at 02:35 on Friday, the Pioneer Sun reported.
There was only one pilot on board and died unfortunately.
According to preliminary reports, the Yakovlev Yak-9UM single-engine fighter plane hit the ground about 20 kilometers west of (Latrobe Valley Regional Airport), the local airport in Laghobe Valley, according to a statement issued by the Australian Transport and Transportation Safety Agency, (ATSB). Five traffic safety investigators from Brisbane and Canberra have rushed to the scene.
Australia`s Transport Safety Authority will examine the wreckage, interview witnesses, and collect any available data for analysis.
