Police praised an 11-year-old girl as a hero, according to ABC.
The little girl was kidnapped and sexually assaulted in a park in Newcastle.
New state police have arrested 47-year-old Newcastle suspect, known as the Rangers.
He received a total of 11 counts.
These include kidnapping and sexual assault.
He appeared in a local court in Newcastle this morning and refused to bail.
The 11-year-old girl took a walk in the park Tuesday morning.
The man allegedly threatened the girl with a knife.
She was allegedly pointed at for five hours with a knife.
The girl was allegedly hijacked into a red car. After the car reached the woodland, the man sexually assaulted the girl.
At about 2 p.m., police said the girl was released at a local railway station. She then returned home and informed the police of the incident.

On Sunday morning, Detective Supervisor John Kerlatec, captain of the Child abuse and sexual crimes team, said it was a "tough week" for the Newcastle community.
The locals helped the police to track down the man.

Newcastle Police Commissioner Brett Greentree said the crime was terrible.
