There`s a growing number of Australian people in online shopping, according to the Herald Sun. The Australian Post has made adjustments to the costs, including international mail and parcels.
It is reported that on Tuesday, Australia Post announced a fee adjustment. Australians will have to pay an extra 20 cents to send letters overseas. The cost of sending some holiday cards has also increased, even Christmas.
International parcels, air freight to the United States, Canada, UK, Ireland and parts of Asia increased by$2.
Australian Post said it was one of the remedies that the company had made for the decline in the amount of traditional paper-based mail, starting with the adjusted price at the end of the month.
However, the Australian Post also said that not all charges were up. The collection of seasonal greeting cards to New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region will increase by 20%, but the costs to other areas will be reduced by 10%.
In addition, Australia`s domestic package charges have been the largest in nearly 30 years, a total of 256 kinds of fees according to the weight of the package and the delivery area are eliminated, replaced by four different package specifications, small, medium, large and super large.
