Barry John Faulkner, 68, was convicted at the Brisbane District Court on April 13. He was charged with multiple counts of fraud, ordered to return the victim 6430 yuan and sentenced to six months in prison.

Faulkner has been in and out of prison all his life, charged with more than 80 counts, mostly fraud, with more than 50 pseudonyms.

Faulkner has pretended to be a doctor, a soldier, a Fedex porter, an American millionaire, an Olympic worker, a CIA agent, etc.

He is known as the "catch me if you can" swindler because his scam is reminiscent of Leonardo DiCaprio`s role in the 2002 film.

Many of his scams involve selling very good goods to others at special prices.

Last month, he pleaded guilty to defrauding Burleigh B B`s boss, Vera Marie Panitsch, on Nov. 13, 2005, when he was ordered to return his 260 yuan.

Panitsch told The Sunday Mail that Faulkner was wearing a T-shirt with the Qantas logo and offered to buy a discount TV set for the Panitsch at the Qantas Brisbane staff special sale.

Panitsch says she regrets being deceived by Faulkner, who thinks she has learned her lesson.

On the same day, Brisbane woman Helen Wander Davis was also deceived by Faulkner 425 yuan.

On Jan. 11, 2008, Faulkner was accused of defrauding Bernard Baggeto,Baggetto, a Brisbane man, to give Faulkner3500 yuan in cash.

In 2015, Faulkner was jailed in the new state, pretending to be an UAE pilot, promising to lift passengers.

Before that, Faulner had pretended to be a pilot and took away some cheap duty-free goods. He even dressed up as an American pilot and succeeded in persuading the owner of a Caboolture motel that he had come for an air show, and that the Air Force would pay for his accommodation and food.

In the late 1960s, Faulkner was 19. Posing as a doctor at Royal Brisbane Hospital, he examined two pregnant women.
