Opal Reef lies on the northern edge of (Great Barrier Reef), Queensland's famous World Heritage Great Barrier Reef, about 50 kilometers off the (Port Douglas) port of Douglas, a small coastal town on the northern coast of Queensland.
Opal Reef is one of the diving resorts of the Great Barrier Reef, underwater with colorful corals and a rich variety of tropical fish, including sea turtles, parrot fish, sea anemones, reef sharks, clown fish, stingrays, etc., in sunny conditions. Underwater coral reefs reflect sunlight and appear to be full of color. Visitors can sign up for scuba diving at commercial companies that organise and coach diving in the port of Glasgow, or rent their own boats or rowing.
